4.0.1

oktober 12, 2010

My warlock has drained his last soul shard (in the traditional style, anyway), and the 12 hour maintenance to implement patch 4.0.1, the beginning of “Cataclysm”, has started. Bye bye WotLK, see you all on the other side. The world is changed. I feel it in… the water.

The Sin’dorei Will Prevail!

marts 1, 2010

Hep!

Endeavour in Grizzly Hills

And here is my level 75 orc shaman, Endeavour, arriving in Grizzly Hills on his magical carpet. Compared to the preceding zone, greenish-white Dragonblight, Grizzly Hills is an explosion of colours.

Grizzly Hills Music

januar 5, 2010

Some people do not have music on at all when they play World of Warcraft. For other people – like me – music is a very important part of the game. Each zone or place in the game has certain musical themes or “leitmotifs” – some, I think, are unique to that place, but in other cases zones share the same themes. My favorite places in the World of Warcraft are Ashenvale, Teldrassil, Winterspring, Moonglade, Howling Fjord – and to a certain extent Grizzly Hills. These are the places I look forward to seeing again when levelling (well, I actually only have a few lowbie ally characters, so I rarely see Teldrassil). I enjoy these zones because of the ambience there – and I revisit them regularly to remind myself why after almost 3 years I still spend time playing this game. Rewards, awesome gear, battlegrounds, instances etc. are all nice, but for me this game is fundamentally not about those things. It’s about places – and I find it easy to get nostalgic, or whatever you call it, about those places.

The best music in the game belongs to the woods of Northrend, namely Grizzly Hills. In my opinion, nothing in this game beats the epic feeling you get from revisiting these woods, flying over Vordrassil’s Heart and listening to the music after having completed some achievement you personally find important, although of course, it isn’t. Here is the hauntingly beautiful Night Music:

MODTAGET!

Quel’Delar, Lens of the Mind

december 17, 2009

What are you guys talking about?”

Quest-serien ser vældig episk ud og sender bl.a. én til Isle of Quel’Danas.
